Hazrat Muhammad (Sm.) was the Prophet of Islam. He was born at Makkah in 570 AD. His father's name was Addullah who died before his birth. His mother Amena also died in his infancy. He was brought up by a wet-nurse named Halima. His grandfather and uncle were very kind to him and took care of him. At the age of twenty five he married Khadija who was then forty, But he had no attraction for worldly life and its enjoyments. He began to meditate upon the higher problems of life and death in the cave of Mount Hera. At last, prophecy came to him at the age of forty and he preached, "There is no God except Allah." Khadija was the first to accept his new creed. The Makkans were angry with him. They also tried to kill him. So, he went to Madina in 622 AD in the dark of night. It is known as Hizrat.
